Here is the visual proof that you can drive with a commercially available consumer hydrogen fuel cell car, specifically the "Hyundai ix35 fuel cell\u201d, from the North Sea (example; Noordwijk aan Zee in the Netherlands) to the Mediterranean Sea (example; Venezia, Italy). The publically available and necessary H2 filling stations are in:
Roohn/NL
Düsseldorf, or Cologne Airport or Wuppertal or Offenbach, all D
Koblenz/D
Karlsruhe/D
Geisingen/D
Innsbruck/A
Bolzano/I
You can connect already to Berlin and Munich and Rhein/Main, and to the Baltic Sea via Rostock.
I have made the (supposedly first) drive and connection to the Mediterrannean Sea on 14th June 2018 by using the most southern public H2 Station which is in Bozen/Bolzano, Süd-Tirol, Italy. I made it safe back to the station in Bozen the same day with enough surplus hydrogen (possibly sufficient for ).
The distance was 407 km from Via Enrico Mattei 1 in Bolzano via the Valsugana to Piazzale San Marco in Venice, and back.
I used for the trip Bozen-Venezia-Bozen 2.83 kg H2.
The average consumption was therefore 0.695 kg/100 km (final confirmation pending).
The axis North-Sea - Mediterrannean Sea has therefore been accomplished.
