This papyrus was written for the Priest of Horus, Imhotep. It contains 6 separate texts, all of which are for the protection of Osiris the god of the dead. Upon death, the spirit of Imhotep became an Osiris and, like Osiris, his spirit was protected by the texts. The papyrus is read from right to left and is divided into columns of text. Imhotep, his father Pshentehe, and his mother Tjehne were all priests in Meir in Middle Egypt. In addition, Imhotep's coffin was found in Meir, thus this papyrus probably comes from there.
