Gone too soon, she was his moon. A shining light at night, a bright beauty in the sunlight. Gone too soon.
And all he had now was this black balloon.
In early years with her and through happy times he had a red balloon. Red as the heart that beat for her. Red as the heart that loved her to no end.
When she became sick he had a yellow balloon. He cared for her through and through. He yearned to be mellow yet his soul felt yellow. Not cowardly so, but fear set in and within himself he felt lost.
Lost her too soon. Now nothing more than a black balloon. Though he carried a blue balloon in sadness too.
The black balloon was his sorrow for he knew there'd be no tomorrow. Today, just for today it will be black, if only his heart would break with an attack.
And yet he hoped to see a white balloon come into the room. Float away as if it's her spirit to say, "I love you."
