A couple of pictures of a house Dennis Hastings and I finished after the original crew, who framed most of the place, quit or was fired.

The first picture is walking into the main bathroom. Around and to the right of the pony wall is the toilet. The majority of the interior was v-groove tongue and groove cedar 1x6, walls and ceilings. Most walls the boards ran horizontally, but a few were vertical.

The building began life as a chicken coop, in the 1920s or '30s if I remember correctly. It is the very last house as one moves up Benedict Canyon just before it intersects with Mullholland. On a clear day one can see all the way to the Pacific Ocean from the bathroom, with the 2 lite window on the left. It has a 6' sliding door you can't see from this angle. It is a spectacular view.

The owners hired some (I believe) Mexican landscapers to clear their VERY steep hillside. One day they killed a rattlesnake that was probably 8' long. While neither Dennis nor I spoke Spanish, there was enough English that over the weeks we all got somewhat chummy. The day after they killed the snake they brought it for lunch. They offered us some and, I think surprisingly for them, we happily accepted. It was fucking delicious!

I have a bunch of more pictures of this job somewhere. If I find them, I'll scan and upload them.
