Here are photos of one of my old lyrics notebook. It really wasn't that common that I would spend much time and/or energy on writing lyrics for some reason, which is interesting as I've always been a writerly kind of guy.Baby You Give Me Everything

I think that making music the way I did, in solitary pursuit, literally being not only every member of the band in most cases, but being responsible for writing the tunes, the lyrics, the vocals and serving as the studio engineer and producer, as well made it hard to excel in every single respect.... There's a point where I was just spread too thin. I didn't spend nearly the time I should have mixing the tapes properly, mastering them etc., blah blah...
It's a shame too, because when I did, they were much better than most of my tunes that just repeat the same lyrics over and over...ho hum.
But, here are a few examples I could dig up my having put a little thought into the words, and actually writing them out.
