I was the electrician on the Watson for my last 6 yeas as a Merchant Marine, before retirement. Mearsk Lines flew us to and from the ship wherever the ship might be. Supposedly, we were to work 4 months on and 4 months off. ... That was, unless we had a relief. ... Lots of times, they could not find another electrician to relieve me, so I had to stay 6-8 months instead of 4. The ship was 935 ft. Long and I was the only electrician on board. There was an Electronics Officer who would work with me if I ever got to where I needed help. For the fist few years the ship stayed mostly in Diego Garcia, an Island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Then it was The Island of Saipan in the Pacific.
