Saturday 16 February 2019 on Lower Covigne Road, Diego Martin had its 5th year, showcasing what are the variety of products which can be made from our local pigeon peas, grown in Diego Martin, in Covigne Road by the local community group, phone 383-3165/307-2493. On display were Wines, Ice Cream, Pholourie, Bread, Cupcakes, Punch, Muffins, Doubles and more. My Grandson and I had our first taste of Pigeon Peas Ice cream and this should have been on our local shelves for 5 years now. The Festival was opened y Councillor for the Electoral District of Covigne/Richplain, Ms. Kathy Christopher and also had appearances by a local Minstrel, Dame Lorraine and Baby Girl, standard Traditional Mas Characters. I hope that this fantastic initiative by the Diego Martin Region finally get the attention it deserves by our Agricultural and Business Sectors y its 6th outreach in 2020.Free picture 2019 Pigeon Peas Festival integrated with the OffiDocs web apps
