(Painstakingly making a goodbye painting of all the characters we've spent our time and energy on creating and fleshing out, making them feel as alive as possible< posting a 4 minute sketch of my main quartett with sunglasses on driving off into the sunset lolol)
Heya everyone, long time no see.
I'm axing my profile lol
As I've already said a couple of times, my purpose here was to learn how to paint, get better at it
and, once done, screw off. Well, I'm done. Digital painting is second nature to me now.
Comes in handy from time to time, there's still so much to learn.
I'm moving onto other things, but I've had a great time collaboratively learning art with you bunch.
Maybe I've even stayed for a little too long, but hey, I'm glad I got to practice my
baby steps here and watch my cringy storytelling fall flat on it's face before trying it on any
REAL projects. Imagine that hahaha
Glad I got that out of my system early.
Now, first of all, I've been gone because I've got myself a life. Lol.
Time flies, interests change, yadda yadda you know how it is.
Secondly, and more importantly, during the time I've distanced myself from these art groups
I've had the displeasure of finding out what was actually going on here,
under the surface of those "classic" Pokemon Mystery Dungeon groups. PMDE, PMDU, PMDA.
Who ran them and why they were controversial. Or hated.
Yep, it's exactly what it sounds like. I've read the KiwiForums.
My eyes won't ever forgive me.
No really, it all seems so simple and obvious in hindsight, so clear.
As a child, I've joined PMDE because I've loved Mystery Dungeon to bits and it excited me to be able to draw with so many
other kids sharing the same game interest. But there was a massive problem with it, just out of sight (or out of comprehension) for a child,
but not within the community mind you. Most of it came from it's leadership.
A problem young me, and many others, couldn't grasp.
When all the drama began to tear the groups apart, I remember only feeling confused as to why my
favorite online Pokemon group was closing down. It was just a page for drawing stories based on a cute
spinoff roguelike, what could be so wrong with it?
This group, that attracted so many enthusiastic art-loving children like myself, was created, maintained
and moderated by pedophiles, bestiality-lovers and just straight up psychos. Wtf.
That was no fun revelation.
And it didn't stop there, they apparently spilled over into PMDU, and then into PMDA. I was so
shocked to see it all unfold like that, the entire situation still disgusts me. Following links to personal blogs,
leaked archives, deleted pages - it was honestly stomach churning at times. I'm not even close to having seen it all,
and honestly, I'd rather forget than look further, some of it has already once been burned into my brain when I came across it at a younger age.
That's certainly enough.
I deeply despise the people who arranged it all like this.
Oh man, to think that I once looked up and was indifferent to so many artists who turned out to be rotten to the core. Repulsive.
PK (or "GlitchedPuppet"), Marl, Eevee and everyone associated with them... burn in hell.
You belong in prison, not in online environments where children idealize you.
Sucks to know the earlier victims of your shady online practices will soon all have grown up, right?
I don't know how people who know about this can turn their head away from the bad and quietly work with those in question.
People like ChillySundance and Haychel should not be anywhere near kids, online or offline. Ever. God why did I have to stumble upon you all
as a kid myself? Still feel somewhat torn about Mike.
Point in case, keep young people from mindlessly falling into traps online that basically act as "hotspots" for them on their surface level.
Unsuspecting places might be way worse than they seem.
Anyyyhow, I've been keeping my graveyard profile open for quite a while now, so I want to end this on a
high note while I still can. Says the guy who just ranted about online weirdos to you.
200 watchers are way more than I've anticipated for a learning profile, so thanks for sticking around YOU :)
Special thanks go out to...
ColorsAreAwesome, good luck with your education and everything. I see you're on a good path artistically, and I say
that with confidence, you're trying to push your style and are starting to better your grasp on shapes and visual flow.
You're gonna get there, keep learning, awesome one :D
Srarlight, I see you've overthrown Woop and everyone else to become our groups new dictator. Congrats!
I'm kidding, it's nice to see you've taken things into your own hands, the group seems to be doing great under you.
It's one of the two last PMD groups still active, and with a track record of not having a staff
made of predators, creeps and toxic people. Who knew it can be that easy?
We did, and I hope you manage to see the group through to the end if that's still your goal.
Have fun in college Srar, I know you're REALLY truly passionate about art and animation,
so I hope it all works out for you. I know it's often tough, so as a (much younger) fellow
college kid let me assure you that you'll get through, you've got a drive many can only dream of.
Considering you still remember what dreams are, your sleeping schedule may have remained the same lol.
Mine's even more screwed up now, but I can't say you didn't warn me of college. And now I'm doomed too haha.
Idk if you're still anywhere near Deviantart Woop, but if yes... hi and bye.
Thanks for bringing us together to starting Rival Gates, you were a great comic artist and animator!
SnowingBird, I don't know where you went, but when I was archiving everything I remembered
how much I actually missed seeing you here back then... welp, now I'm really running out of people.
Uhmmm... Tecsinom, you seemed always fun and had good flow in your drawings? Novern, thanks for now helping out with the group? Idk haha
If I've forgotten to name you, sorry not sorry. It's been a while, my senile brain only recalls the best of the best.
The brightest of the brightest.
Yet I've only just noticed that I've missed Emily.
I'm dumber than a pile of buried rocks.
Emlz, it was really fun collabing, painting for and just simply talking to you, hope you're doing great!
Btw did I already mention I data-mined the shit out of my profile stats before deleting everything?
Might come in handy one day, I'm really keen on seeing how and which network effects affected my history here.
With about 150 entries across multiple years it would justify me writing a program to analyze some aspects of it, who knows.
I do: This has nothing to do with art and I'm boring you.
Well, I guess it's goodbye now.
You peeps still have one last group painting by me to look forward to (or to dread), it's the ref for the island town
and, I ain't gonna lie, it came out pretty dope. Won't be posted by me though, I hope Srar still has it. If not, bummer.
SRAR YOU BETTER HAVE IT >:D
I don't even know if I still have it.
Man I hope my undeleted submissions stay where they are after I completely delete my profile, otherwise I'm done for.
Oh, did I also mention that this picture now only exists in your, my loyal watcher's, inbox since I've deleted my account?
If you have anything you're still burning to ask me, have something to say or a creative insult I haven't heard yet,
feel free to write me at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
EDIT: DA says it will delete all other submissions I've made, and I can't do that to Srar. Not a chance. Still, write me mail, this account will be inactive yo.
Cute inbox name huh
Now, take care guys and gals. Don't give up on your goals, enjoy life, and create with courage!
I will see you again someday.
First one to forget me wins.
