"Old Redd was as slow

as slow as Turtles would go.

Some would say in the kindest way

that he should pick up the pace

and waste no more haste.

Time was of the essence

and lettuce grew near fences.

But Old Redd kept to his speed

taking no heed, smoking some weed.

Snails moved faster ahead,

even rocks moved faster with tread.

Days would pass, nights just as well,

and traffic as always was heaven or hell.

Yet Old Redd cared what not

as he moved across lot after lot,

road after road, through grass and glass,

such a slow turtle ass.

Though if he passed nasty turtle gas

he'd move like a hurricane wind,

but Old Redd kept to the speed limit,

it being fifty miles per hour,

minus a simple forty-nine,

still getting $250 dollar fines."
