The Threepenny Opera by Kurt Weill (1900-1950), music and Bertolt Brecht (1898-1956), lyrics. orchestra and chorus conducted by Wilhelm Bruckner-Ruggeberg. The cast includes Lotte Lenya (1898-1981), Wolfgand Neuss, Willy Trenk-Trebitsch, Trude Hesterburg and Erich Schellow. Recorded in Berlin at the Afifa Studios in 1958. This was the first truly complete recording of this work. It included material composed by Weill and Brecht that had not even been used in some staged productions. Transfer from the original Columbia mono LP set O2L 257 by Bob Varney.
