If I recall correctly, and that\u2019s an "If" in large, bright flashing neon lights, this is our father in ROTC. I look at the face in the photo but I don\u2019t see my dad. That doesn\u2019t mean it isn\u2019t him, I just don\u2019t recognize the face. I certainly didn't know him then. I do have vague memories of him telling me he was in ROTC, but I could totally be making that shit up.

Horace graduated from Los Angeles High School, and the guy in this photo certainly appears to be of high school age. His family would have moved to Los Angeles by this time if that\u2019s him, and it\u2019s definitely city where this picture was taken.
